The proliferation of oil based materials (Polyester) and genetically modified crops to create cotton has made basic fabrics and threads very cheap, but also very bad for the environment.  Which is crazy as there's so many decent alternatives that require less resources and can be grown in lots of different climates.

The research I've done into many of these products has taken very little time as the information is so available, and they're all very decent products.  Please think about this when you buy everyday or luxury items, as there is such a planetary and quality benefit in using eco materials.
