Who doesn't love Cherries? And cherry wood is the same, it has a rich red brown colouring with the feel of quality.  It does seem to suffer from woodworm who seem to like the flavour too.  

Again, a highly commercialised fruit means highly available stocks of wood.  Which means it's an awesome by-product which should be used as much as possible.

 

I only use Cherry if it is locally sourced as it's not difficult to get hold of.
