Do I need to tell you how sustainable apple trees are?  Fast growing, they are literally everywhere!  The thing is the wood they produce is phenomenally beautiful, greens, pinks, purples, brown and white all within a single slice of wood.

Due to grafting (where the trees are grafted onto existing roots) and hybridisation often the seeds you get within an apple will be of a different variety of Apple to the apple itself.

My apple wood is sourced locally, basically when someone has some, and I waste none of it.  The offcuts I chip and use to smoke fish, meat and vegetables.
